Hebrews 11:22
“By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.”
Enduring faith reveals confidence in the promises of God. Joseph exemplified this faith at the end of life. He knew God’s promise and charged his descendants to stand in those promises. (Genesis 50:24-26) Enduring faith recognizes victory over death!

Hebrews 11:23
“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.”
Enduring faith equips a Christ follower with boldness to defend life. This is one area the church must recognize the responsibility we have to pray and get involved on the front lines. Illinois is now a battle ground. Many Illinois politicians are bent on legislating a right to murder preborn children. God help us!

Hebrews 11:25
“choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,”
Enduring faith enables a Christ follower to Recognize that the pleasure of sin is quickly gone. Moses knew that in the long run suffering affliction would gain more pleasure than enjoying the passing pleasure. Beware of instant gratification. Enduring faith trusts that joy will come in the morning! (Psalm 30:1-5)

Hebrews 11:26
“esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.”
Enduring faith looks to the reward. Our confrence theme passage reveals this!
Hebrews 12:1-2, “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Heb 12:1–2.
Are you basking in the greater riches of Christ Jesus?

Hebrews 11:27
“By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.”
Enduring faith desires God and His kingdom rather than the visible kingdoms of the world. A.W. Tozer wrote, “Faith is the gaze of a soul upon a saving God.” Moses trusted God not yet fully seeing what would be. Do you?

Hebrews 11:28
“By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.”
Enduring faith trusts the Word of God with healthy fear! (Exodus 11-12) We live in a day that many have no fear of God, no respect for Him or His precious Holy Word. Isaiah 24:5 reveals God’s final judgment is coming against the whole world. Why? “The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” Those who trust God with enduring faith will escape God’s judgment! thank you Jesus!

Hebrews 11:29
“By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.”
Many of you have walked the trails at Giant City State Park. One section of the trails has large cottonwood trees growing in between the rock cliffs that line each side of the narrow trail. I have a picture of this hanging in my office with the caption, “Faith doesn’t get us around adversity. It gets us through it. Enduring faith trusts God as He takes us through adversity.

Hebrews 11:30
“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.”
Enduring faith recognizes the battle is the Lord’s and will follow Him even when things look ridiculous to a watching world! Our kid’s sing, Joshua Fought The Battle Of Jericho, but it wasn’t much of a battle was it? God commanded the people to march around the city every day for 6 days, then on the 7th day march around the city 7 times. They were commanded to shout at the end of the 7th trip and God brought the wall crashing down! Enduring faith obediently follows God’s commands.

Hebrews 11:24
“By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharoah’s daughter,”
Enduring faith trusts God and the benefits of His kingdom rather than the kingdoms of this fallen world. So often we are focused on our will and the comforts we have been blessed with in this nation. Moses gave up rights for the sake of God’s will and God’s kingdom people. Are we willing church?
